Development Release, April 12, 2023: Ethereum Shapella Upgrade

On April 12, 2023, at epoch 194048, or 22:27:35 UTC, the much-anticipated Shapella network upgrade will go live on the Ethereum network. This is a big deal for the network because it is the biggest upgrade since last year’s merge event when the protocol switched from a proof-of-work (PoW) consensus mechanism to a proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus mechanism.

One of the most important parts of the Shapella upgrade is that it makes it possible to withdraw Ethereum, which has been staked on the network. This means users who have staked their Ethereum can now take it out of the network, making it more liquid and giving users more options.

33.3% of all ETH staked is on decentralized liquid staking platforms. With a 93.79% share, Lido DAO is the clear leader in this space. With the release of the Shapella upgrade, more people are likely to start staking their Ethereum, which will increase the total amount of ETH staked and make the network even safer.

Conference at the Hong Kong Web3 Festival on April 12, 2023

From April 12 to 15, 2023, the first Hong Kong Web3 Festival will occur at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. This event will be co-hosted by Wanxiang Blockchain Labs and HashKey Group and organized by W3ME. It is expected to bring together many of the world’s best minds, top Web3 projects, and top venture capitalists.

The Web3 Festival will have content-rich discussions and talks about Web3, focusing on bringing together key players and thought leaders in the blockchain space. People who go can expect to hear from developers, entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers, among others, who will share their ideas and experiences on various Web3-related topics.

Development Release, April 14, 2023: EOS EVM Launch

The EOS network will launch the EOS EVM on April 14, 2023. The EOS EVM emulates the Ethereum EVM and will be housed in an EOS smart contract. The EOS EVM has the same features as other EVMs. It is faster, works better, and is compatible with more things than any other EVM.

One of the best things about the EOS EVM is that it can process transactions quickly and efficiently. This is because the EOS network has a high throughput and a low latency. This makes it a good choice for developers and users who need to process transactions quickly and reliably.

Also, the EOS EVM recently got more money because EOS Network Ventures put $20 million directly into the EOS EVM and the GameFi projects. This is a clear sign that people are becoming more interested in the EOS EVM and how it could help drive growth and innovation in the blockchain space.

Conference – Ethereum Zurich, April 14, 2023

The Ethereum Zurich hackathon will transpire in Zurich, Switzerland, from April 14 to 16th, 2023. The hackathon will only happen offline so that people can get to know each other and work together as well as possible.

Zurich is a prominent place for blockchain and Ethereum startups. Still, it has yet to hold a big event. The Ethereum Zurich hackathon wants to change that by giving developers, business owners, and tech fans a place to meet, learn, and work together on cutting-edge projects and technologies.

For €151, you can buy a ticket to the Ethereum Zurich hackathon, which gives you full access to the conference, including talks, workshops, and chances to meet others. During the event, attendees will also have access to coffee and water, but the food is not included.

Development Release, April 18, 2023: Rocket Pool Atlas Upgrade

The Rocket Pool Atlas Upgrade, which will happen on April 18, will make some exciting changes to the Rocket Pool network. One of the most important changes in this release is that you can create a mini-pool with as little as 8 ETH instead of the 16 ETH required. With this change, node operators can create mini-pools with less money and make more money.

For a node operator to create an 8 ETH mini-pool, they must stake at least 2.4 ETH worth of RPL and no more than 12 ETH worth of RPL. This is 10% of how much was borrowed from the protocol and 150% of how much the operator put on the line. To make a validator, 8 ETH from a mini-pool’s own node operator will be paired with 24 ETH from the staking pool, which is made up of rETH holders. Even if the 16-ETH mini-pool has a 20% commission rate, running two 8-ETH mini-pools instead of one 16-ETH mini-pool can give you more than 18% more rewards.

The Atlas Upgrade also adds new features to the network, such as automatic reward distribution, a unified Grafana dashboard, changes to Nimbus, support for Lodestar, and a new system for taking snapshots of the network.

Development Release, April 25, 2023: Zilliqa EVM Compatibility

Zilliqa said it will add EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) compatibility to its platform. This will allow blockchain developers from all over the world to use its ecosystem. With this change, users of the Zilliqa ecosystem will be able to use well-known wallets like MetaMask. This means developers can build decentralized applications (dApps) on the Zilliqa platform with tools and languages they already know.

Once this EVM implementation is live on the mainnet, users can move native ZIL tokens with wallets like MetaMask and use popular developer tools like Truffle and Hardhat to deploy Solidity smart contracts. This means that people can use wallets like MetaMask the same way on other blockchains without worrying about address space differences or converting ZIL tokens.

After EVM compatibility is added to Zilliqa’s platform, the next step will be to add more features by allowing Scilla and Solidity standards to work together, such as ERC-20 and ZRC-2 for fungible tokens and ERC-721 and ZRC-6 for nonfungible tokens. With this interoperability, transferring native NFTs and fungible tokens between EVM and Scilla interfaces will be as easy as transferring native ZIL tokens. The team’s plan to solve this problem focuses on making it easy for users to access and integrate to make the process as easy as possible for developers and users.

Development Release: Lido DAO Mainnet Upgrade in May 2023

In the middle of May, there will be a major mainnet upgrade for Lido DAO. The upgrade will focus on two major areas: the Staking Router and Withdrawals. With the Staking Router’s new modular architecture, anyone, from solo stakers to Distributed Validator Technology (DVT) clusters, can build on-ramps for new Node Operators. This will create a more diverse ecosystem of validators and a platform where stakers, developers, and node operators can work together without getting in each other’s way to shape the future of a decentralized Ethereum.

The upgrade will also let stETH holders withdraw from Lido at a 1:1 ratio, which is a big step toward making the Ethereum staking ecosystem open to people who want to join or leave it. This will help Lido serve its users better and make the Ethereum ecosystem safer and less centralized.

The Staking Router will help a lot of different people who use Lido. Stakers benefit from a more diverse and secure set of Node Operators, which reduces the risk of network downtime and makes Ethereum more stable. With the help of the new modules, more types of node operators, like solo stakers, small groups, DAOs, and professional node operators, will be able to take part in the Lido protocol. Lastly, developers can suggest and build modules using different node operator combinations. Users can request that these modules be added to the Staking Router’s set.

Development Release, August 2, 2023: Litecoin Block Halving

Many people in the crypto community are excited at the Litecoin block halving that will happen in August 2023. Litecoin miners will get half as many coins per block during this event, from 12.5 to 6.25.

Events called “halving” are a key part of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Litecoin. They help keep the number of coins in circulation under control and make sure their value stays fairly stable. When a certain number of blocks have been mined, these things happen. As a result, the reward that miners get for their work goes down.

The block time for Litecoin is 2.5 minutes, so its halving events happen about every four years. The last two halvings of Litecoin happened in 2015 and 2019. The block reward went from 50 LTC to 25 LTC in 2015 and down to 12.5 LTC in 2019. In August 2023, when the reward is cut in half, it will be worth 6.25 LTC.

It’s important to remember that Litecoin’s halving events are not the only ones to keep an eye out for. In May 2024, the amount of Bitcoin in circulation will be cut in half. Bitcoin is the most valuable cryptocurrency in the world. The reward per block for Bitcoin miners will go from 6.25 coins to 3.125 coins. These halving events are an important part of the crypto world. Investors and traders pay close attention to them because they can start the next Bull Cycle.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Spring 2023 is shaping to be an exciting time for the crypto world. With major events such as the Ethereum Shapella Upgrade, Lido DAO Mainnet Upgrade, and the Rocket Pool Atlas Upgrade, we expect huge wholesale inflow from institutions, as the Ethereum un-staking is something they have been long waiting for.

Many more conferences will be held in the Summer, Autumn, and Winter of 2023. Litecoin halving this year and Bitcoin halving next year are coming. The Bull Cycle will begin somewhere in between following them. It is like a clock on every 4 years. Crypto was pretty beaten up last year, but as time and projects progress, so is the confidence of every enthusiast and investor.
