Ethan Buchman

Co-founder of the Tendermint and Cosmos projects. Ethan Buchman is the technical director of the Interchain Foundation, a non-profit whose primary aim is to investigate, create, and promote open, decentralized networks.

Ethan Buchman got a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Science and a Master’s degree in Engineering Systems and Computing from the University of Guelph.

In 2014, Ethan began his work at Eris Industries as a core developer. From 2016 to 2019, he was a co-founder. Additionally, he is the CTO at Tendermint. In 2017, Ethan joined Interchain Foundation.

Since 2019, Ethan has been a technical director at Interchain Foundation. He believes that a consensus algorithm can promote social cohesiveness. Ethan is always motivated to provide individuals with innovative coordination and agreement-making strategies.

Ethan Buchman works mainly on developing general-purpose technology that allows interoperable state machines over the public internet to improve the economic sovereignty of smaller communities throughout the globe.

Additionally, he operates a coin culture crypto consultancy, offering comprehensive education on blockchain technology to non-technical and technical audiences.
